The Versace Mansion is a truly beautiful place. The food served at Gianni’s was all delicious! But the service was unfortunately terrible.
Unfortunately, this is the problem of the most restaurants with well-known names. People will come despite the service and the place will be seemingly packed.
Hostesses were not friendly at all, they looked at people with contempt and were rude to us as we were taking pictures.
The Dress code does not allow flip flops, shorts, or any other beachwear. This is awesome of course! But they could warn us beforehand that it is almost impossible to walk on heels with the stony blocks on their floor. In fact, we saw a woman stumble and fall over. Thank God she is Ok, but I don’t think she is the only one who has fallen there. It's strange that no one has sued for this yet. By the way, any help or apology from the staff after this woman fell is still nowhere to be found.
The tables are arranged very tightly, so you sit as if in you are in one big group with your neighbors. You can hear all the conversations.
We originally were sat on a table for 6. Our two additional guests were a no-show and they tried to move us to a small square table, so that we wouldn’t take up unnecessary space.
Waiters could not advise us on any items on the menu or suggest any dish. They didn’t even explain the menu (none of it!). The bar-tender didn’t particularly understand the wine list. The dessert did not comply with the stated pitch. The water was poured only after several reminders, and after the first pour they didn’t comeback. They left our empty dirty dishes on the table for at least 15 minutes before the waiter took them away, and there was no music at all.
It was very upsetting that we were forbidden from taking any photographs on a “professional camera", and could only take pictures on our phones! They did not care that we were celebrating a birthday and just wanted a few pictures in a beautiful place, where by the way we spent a lot of money for a dinner!
